"The company extensively researched trends in fashion, design, paper crafting and home decor for almost two years in addition to holding focus groups with customers and demonstrators to decide on the palette of colors that would make up the color renovation."
The new color collections will officially launch with the new Idea Book & Catalog on July 1st. Click the picture to see them - I can't wait!
While I'll miss some of the colors that are retiring (of course), I LOVE the new colors, and the new configuration of the "Color Collections." I must say, I think Stampin' Up! is dead on with their research; I recently read an article about color trends where they talked about how "neutrals" are becoming focal colors and color trends are moving toward richer versions of neutrals, combining with complementary vibrant reds, blues and oranges. Sounds about right to me!

The Four new Color Collections have 10 colors each, including Five brand new colors: Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Early Expresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Marina Mist; plus 10 returning colors, which I'm very excited about: Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, River Rock, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, and Baja Breeze.
Several colors will be retiring, but for the most part they're colors that I reach for the least often - how did Stampin' Up! do that?? lol Click the picture to see the full list, and remember you have until the end of June to stock up on cardstock, markers, ink pads and ink refills in your favorites. Personally, I wouldn't wait until the last minute, I'm not sure if it will be a "while supplies last" situation or not.
The other big color change is for the In Colors: We’ll have 5 new In Colors each year, and these colors will now have a lifespan of two years instead of one. So this July 1st we'll have 5 new In Colors for a total of 45 colors; and starting July 1st of 2011 there will be 5 MORE new In Colors, plus the 5 introduced this year, for a total of 50 colors!!
We will continue to offer the following other choices of card stock: Brushed Gold, Brushed Silver, Confetti Cream, Confetti White, Glossy White, Naturals Ivory, Naturals White, Shimmery White, and White vellum card stock, as well as White vellum paper.
Classic ink will be available in all 40 core colors. However, based on sales history, full-size Craft Stampin’ Pads will only be available in Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White. Craft Stampin’ Spots (available in collections) and Craft Stampin’ Ink refills (available individually) will still be available in all of the core colors to use for embossing, coloring chipboard, and scrapbooking. BUT if you like Craft ink and want full-size inkpads NOW is the time to order them as full-size Craft inkpads will only be available in white, vanilla, or black as of July 1st. (A blank Craft pad will be available in an upcoming mini catalog, so you'll eventually be able to create your own inkpads by purchasing the blank pads and Craft ink refills.) And don't forget to buy Craft ink refills for any of the retiring colors you like!
And how cool is this: A digital download will be available on July 1 to add the new colors to your My Digital Studio software, free of charge! I love Stampin' Up!
Lots of new info to digest, but don't worry! The new Color Collections don't start until July 1st, so we have plenty of time! Feel free to email me if you have any questions or would like to order some of the retiring products! You can also shop online anytime, 24-7!
Ta for now!
